  • Ensure that financial statements are accurately prepared in accordance with Company and applicable accounting policy.
  • Direct the monthly inventory close process across all applicable North American operating divisions.
  • Ensure that all inventory related balance sheets across the division are accurate and fully supported.
  • Partner with Financial Systems, IT and the business on system changes which have an accounting impact.
  • Work with corporate accounting, consolidations, and North American Shared Services to ensure that all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Ensure that LIFO and inter-company profit reserves are calculated and recorded correctly and timely.
  • Collaborate with division controllers on monthly balance sheet reviews and quarterly EY analyses.
  • Support internal and external audits and SOX compliance.
  • Retain and develop accounting team members.
  • Manage team budget and monthly forecast updates.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited university, MBA and/or CPA is desired.
  • 15 + years of progressively more complex roles in Accounting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with standard costing is required. Prior experience with LIFO is desired.
  • Accountable with a hands-on and tactical approach to accomplishing results.
  • Understanding of underlying financial systems and the ability to quickly absorb and add value to business systems impacting financial reporting.
  • Ability to proactively challenge and improve processes.
  • Ability to manage the organization through change including standardization of accounting processes and centralization of accounting duties.
  • Must be highly collaborative, assertive, and decisive.
  • Understanding of accounting and internal control principles and be the inventory expert on both.
  • Leadership skills guiding both direct reports and various stakeholders through processes and projects.
  • Ability to assimilate and communicate major drivers of monthly performance and triangulate and validate performance on the income statement with movements on the balance sheet.
  • Ability to hire, train, retain, and develop talent to ensure that the team under their direction produce high quality accounting results on a monthly basis.
  • Communication skills to present vision, strategy, and issue resolution to senior management, stakeholders and support teams at all levels and in all areas of the company.
