The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an IT Technician I. The IT Technician is responsible for delivering fast, friendly, dependable, and customer-oriented audio/visual related services. The Technician is the 'eyes and hands in the field', serving all sectors of IT but primarily supports video communications and A/V needs for both instructional and event support.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The IT Technician I will: Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade A/V equipment including projectors, switchers, cameras, video conferencing equipment, and digital signage. Provide user assistance to faculty, staff, and students. Support audio-visual, presentation, and instructional technology equipment, including supervised installs. Perform contracted configuration changes in coordination with other IT units. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must have knowledge of incident management preferred. Knowledge of Windows/Macintosh operating systems and peripheral installation preferred. Knowledge of PC networking preferred. Knowledge of audio/visual cabling and equipment preferred. Ability to multi-task, manage workload, and meet deadlines. Must possess mobility to walk around campus and work in a regular office setting, strong verbal communication over phones, strength to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and valid US driver's license to operate vans and carts as needed.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements: Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker. At least one (1) year of experience working in an IT and/or Audio/Visual environment; or, an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
