This is a PRN role. The Operating Room Registered Nurse plans, executes, directs and evaluates the nursing care given to the surgical patient by assuming the intra-operative role, and may have contact with the patient in each phase of the surgical experience. The RN's responsibilities include functioning as a team player to the support staff; the preparation, assembly and organization of the environment; ensuring equipment and supplies needed to perform the activities necessary for the preparation as circulator or scrub person are ready.
Provides care to surgical patients in the OR according to policy and procedure and care standards.
Maintains knowledge of medications, equipment, expected patient outcomes during surgery and anticipated complications.
Coordinates patient care with multidisciplinary team.
Acts to protect and advance patient s best interest.
Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing; current licensure as RN in state of Georgia. BCLS certification required.
2 Years OR Experience, preferably in Orthopedics
