KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Manager/Manager to join our practice.
Responsibilities: Help clients analyze the tax implications of working internationally and file income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions Assist clients in operating their payrolls in the United States and around the world, including preparing gross-up calculations, payroll withholding calculations, collecting compensation information, and calculating international assignment allowances; may also work with the team on processing payroll for outbound assignees, which includes those working in the United States and internationally Determine an assignee's net salary and factor in a tax gross-up to arrive at the total gross salary Global coordination with country specific third party payroll providers including initial set up and ongoing management Assist clients with implementing leading processes and technologies related to tax compliance and strategy, as well as provide KPMG resources and subject matter that clients can leverage as necessary Help clients understand, anticipate and strategically respond to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other taxing authorities from the beginning of a controversy to its resolution
Qualifications: A minimum of five years of expatriate or individual tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation and/or law firm with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese and the ability to articulate complex information Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, J.D., or LL.M. (Please note that any candidate hired by KPMG into this position that doesn't currently possess one of the aforementioned credentials/designations will be required to secure one within one year from the commencement of employment) Japanese and English fluency is preferred Knowledge of a broad range of tax and administrative issues impacting international assignees Excellent advisory and compliance skills, and experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams
