and Key Accountabilities
  • Plans, organizes, and directs activities for SEC reporting and filings, including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K, XBRL tagging, and other quarterly and annual reporting as required. Ensures reports and filings are timely and accurate and adhere to required policies, procedures, and governance activities.
  • Partners with Accounting, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and Investor Relations to coordinate the preparation and review of quarterly earnings materials. Works with leaders in the business to ensure understanding of reporting guidelines. Serves as a liaison between Internal Audit and external auditors related to SEC filings.
  • Identifies and remains current as a subject matter expert on SEC requirements and trends.
  • Participates in business month-end close processes and calls.
  • Hires, trains, and develops associates.
  • Manages equity accounting and roll forwards, including earnings per share calculations and related analyses.
  • Drives process improvements and supports cross-functional projects. Oversees and manages ad hoc projects.
  • Nature and Scope

  • Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
  • May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.
  • Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
  • Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
  • Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • CPA highly preferred. 
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience leading both technical accounting and SEC reporting at public US companies.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation.
  • Understanding of fair disclosure regulations, GAAP, and internal controls.
