Doctors Hospital of Augusta is a 354-bed HCA facility located near the Georgia-South Carolina border. Doctors Hospital is well known for its Joseph M. Still Burn Center , the largest burn center in the country, which sees more than 3,000 patients annually. In addition, the burn center was recently granted a special burn designation as part of the Georgia Trauma Care Network. This designation included a rigorous review program administered by the American Burn Association (ABA) and the American College of Surgeons (ACA). Doctors Hospital is certified as a Primary Stroke Center, as well as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. We are searching for a Registered Nurse for a full-time, Night shift (7p-7a) position on our Medical Surgical Unit. The Medical Surgical Unit RN is responsible to the Nursing Director/Charge Nurse for the delivery of quality patient care utilizing the nursing process. About the Unit: 4 East is a 28-bed med/surg unit Dialysis is located on the same floor, but our nurses are not expected to cover that area Day AND Night shift nurse to patient ratio is 4-5 patients up to a max of 6 on days and 7 on nights, but our staffing grid calls for 4-5 patients MST's (or patient care techs) - we will have 3 on both shifts if we are fully staffed and the unit is full Day shift has a unit clerk and both shifts have a charge nurse that takes a patient assignment We typically stay full on the unit Typical patient population includes pneumonia, altered mental status, urinary tract infections, weakness, CHF exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, hypertension, pancreatitis, cellulitis.
