We are looking for a self- motivated and results-oriented sales and business development professional to call on target customers (businesses) that would drive repeat business for BuildDirect. You will be responsible for selling flooring materials such as SPC Vinyl, WPC Vinyl, Laminate, engineered hardwood, hardwood,ceramic and porcelain. You'll be based out of your home office and travel within your territory.
What You'll DoProspect and build business relationships with small -to-medium developers of single-family homes and multi-family apartment sites, within your territory.Identify new builders, developers and contractors using social media toolsIdentify influential builders & developers that will drive trends in future home development(s) through sustainable relationships.Hiring US based Sales is new for us. Help us build out the playbook to optimize our local market presence and selling & marketing processes.Relay this information to inside sales team in order to customize sales opportunities and source desired products in the market.Work collaboratively with cross-functional BuildDirect teams at HQ in Vancouver to support and grow prospective and acquired accounts.Develop strategic partnerships that will help build awareness and new customer acquisitionLeverage lead tools along with your own understanding of the territory to perform analysis on regional opportunities and develop a sales/customer acquisition planIdentify additional activities, training or materials necessary to achieve specific product sales goals in key accounts and marketsHandle customer claims, propose resolution and coordinate with claims departmentMaintain a specific schedule for new and existing customer follow-up and keep all valid customer information updated in BuildDirect's corporate CRM tool (Salesforce).Work closely with Director of sales at BuildDirect's HQ to achieve area growth goalsAttend monthly networking events/meet ups to identify and partner with key influencers for purchasing floors such as real estate agents, interior decorators, architects and developers.This position requires a minimum of 90% market travel and time spent at the customers' job sites and business locations, including meeting with and further developing business customer relationships.
What You Need to KnowPrefer at least 3-5 years of successful national account sales experience, preferably in hard-surface flooring and/or building products.Prior experience with floor-covering installers is preferredProven successful experience managing accounts and hitting sales quotas representing a portfolio of $1 to $3 million annually.Ability to negotiate contracts and assist in RFI's and RFP.Ability to manage your own marketing budgetPrior rolodex of business contacts to sell into is highly preferredWork involves extended hours including some weekends and eveningsStrong business acumen and solutions selling skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent presentation skills, including delivering product knowledge training sessionsAbility to plan and prioritize independent work scheduleAbility to easily build and maintain strong relationships with customers and others in the industry.
